Spring Time! Part 1

Wow, my last blog was in 2013. So much has changed...

SPRING TIME! Part 1

So the first bit of news is that I cut my hair. Completely!

My very first time cutting my hair was in December 2008. One day my hair was long and permed, and the next day it had been snipped down to the new growth and coiled to begin my loc journey.

I grew my locs for 5 years before I decided I was bored with them and wanted something new. I was not ready to part with my length so I went through the long, tedious process of combing them out. IT took about 3 weeks straight. Every second of free time was dedicated to the task. The very last weekend, I knew I looked horrible and had to finish the job so I could actually go out and look decent. I had 2 friends to help me finish.

YAY! So my new start lasted for all of about 3 months SMH and what do you think happened? Yup, after all that work, I started my locs again...

Until 2 weeks ago.  I kept these new locs for about 3 years and it decided it was time to change again. By this time, you've probably figured out what my closest friends already know about me. I am very indecisive. But (in my Bobby Brown voice) it's my prerogative, right?

So it's 2016. I have a wedding coming up (yay me! you'll find out more about that in a later blog). My fiance and I have been discussing me taking out my hair. I decided it would be really cool to comb my locs out again before the wedding, especially because he has never seen me without them and I've known him since 2010. Well, we started the process- spray bottles, combs, even forks, and conditioner, lots and lots of conditioner. All of a sudden, we saw how difficult, tedious, and long it would be to finish. Our two options would be to keep going or cut them off. He knows how indecisive I am so we did what any mature couple would do: Rock, Paper, Scissors! If he won, we kept going; if I won, snip snip...

Results:(Left was a couple months ago. Right was March 2016)

I'm very excited about my new look. and new growth. I have my moments when I really miss my hair but it's just hair, it will grow back.

There are more updates to come about my new season and I look forward to you continue to read my journey. Thanks for reading Part 1 of my Spring Time! series. And remember don't be afraid to start new journeys and make new memories. Live life to the fullest and seize each moment. Be Fearless!

Love ya

  1. The overall results from Meal prepping are encouraging but the challenge of
preparing each week consistently is a beast! LOL. I really plan to get back into it. I enjoyed reading this..Keep up the great work!!

    1. I promise I have started over and over so many times. Meal prepped for a week and then had a busy week where I ended up in drive-thrus lol. Consistency is definitely key, and discipline. Thanks so much for commenting David!I appreciate it
