S P R I N G   T I M E !   Part 2 The Journey begins....AGAIN! Spring time is the perfect time for exercising outdoors. It's also a great time to really kick up your preparation for getting that summer beach body. My fiance and I are making life changes when it comes to our health. We're really trying to intentionally plan to eat better. He's been doing an awesome job of meal-prepping and we've just been inspiring each other to keep at it. This morning, I went running with two of my ANΩ brothers. Before I left, I made what I'd like to call my "pre-workout smoothie". Ingredients: I knew we didn't have anymore milk, so I thought the banana would make everything blend but my blender said NO. Therefore, I nervously decided to use water as a base and it actually tasted just like a regular milk smoothie. After the run, I came home and completed an Express Cycle on the Free Giam Tv on demand fitness channel. Then I made panc...

Spring Time! Part 1

Image
Wow, my last blog was in 2013. So much has changed... S P R I N G T I M E ! Part 1 So the first bit of news is that I cut my hair. Completely! My very first time cutting my hair was in December 2008. One day my hair was long and permed, and the next day it had been snipped down to the new growth and coiled to begin my loc journey. I grew my locs for 5 years before I decided I was bored with them and wanted something new. I was not ready to part with my length so I went through the long, tedious process of combing them out. IT took about 3 weeks straight. Every second of free time was dedicated to the task. The very last weekend, I knew I looked horrible and had to finish the job so I could actually go out and look decent. I had 2 friends to help me finish.  YAY! So my new start lasted for all of about 3 months SMH and what do you think happened? Yup, after all that work, I started my locs again... Until 2 weeks ago.   I kept these new locs for about 3 years and i...

Suicide

I sing about faith on Sunday. I write statuses about how we can make it, just pray, wait on the Lord, let God handle it, don't quit.....and such. But the truth is I hate pressure. I want the easy way out. I don't want to take it anymore. I've given in to bad habits to momentarily relieve pressure.I want to avoid pain, ridicule, and discomfort, even if it means displeasing God. I don't feel like being disciplined. It hurts when my desires are screaming. I'd rather give in. How dare I? Daniel and the three Hebrew boys knew who they were and who they served. They didn't change their story even if it meant they would die. The thought of death didn't make them compromise. We want to please people so bad, or please ourselves, that we sometimes sacrifice our identity and compromise with sin just so we won't go through something bad. We fear man more than God. We love our lives instead of losing it for Christ. When the king asked the Hebrew boys to bow, they ...

Single (not just a facebook status)

the cycle. you're alone. someone comes along. you try to make him what you want him to be. he isn't it. you gotta let him go. but he's there when you don't want to be alone. except for the times when he isn't there. that's when you realize you don't really have him. he doesn't belong to you. then you realize you're filling a void with men. and when one leaves, satan sends another.another.another. STOP. ugh crystal. you gotta wait. God won't fail. he's got you. Just trust him. just wait. Be single in heart. you can be attached to people and go home at the end of the day still single. don't do that to yourself. Don't do that to your heart. If you're single, be single. not just in your status, but in your heart as well. you're worth more than being someone's sometime person. wait!

Waiting Patiently

Everybody is getting yoked up lol. Every dag on body. Left and right. I told the Lord have his way, but I can't lie. I keep expecting God to give "him" the ok any second now. It's just not happening, at least not right now. So I keep going back to God and I keep asking him to touch my heart and help me to learn all that I'm supposed to learn while I'm single. I ask him to help me, keep me, and strengthen me. I'm not trying to focus on it. But seeing all these people getting boo'd up, I can't help but wonder when it will be my turn. Anywho, I just wanted to get that out there. In the mean time, I'm committing my works to the Lord so my plans will be established.

Identity

a mature person in Christ understands that their actions, beliefs, and decisions won't be understand by everyone. people WILL misjudge, misunderstand, and incorrectly analyze your character but a mature person in Christ is confident in who they are in Christ. Incorrect comments of who you are may trigger you (we are human, we feel) but it will not make you change your identity for the sake of pleasing people. when people misdiagnose who you are, your confidence helps you to hear what is said, and let it roll off. be genuine, be open, be willing to change what needs to be changed. but if you have a deeper understanding of things than others, you won't internalize every critique. if you have learned a lesson that contributes to your growth, remember that everyone did not get the insight you received. you don't have to apologize when your standards offend someone. if you are not received, shake the dust off and keep it moving. I'm not a people pleaser, I'm a God please...

The History Behind VALENTINE'S DAY!

Image
One day Bobby Valentino came around and became popular. His music was good and everybody loved it. So Cupid from 112 was mad cuz they were off the scene. He didn’t like that everyone liked Bobby so he started throwing arrows at people to make them like him. Then one day Cupid messed up with his girl and he didn’t know what to do. But Bobby happened to help him. He said : “you know, Hershey’s kisses look like Sorry pieces so if you give her some Hershey's kisses, she will accept your apology” . And it worked. So cupid was grateful to Bobby and they became friends and created Valentine’s Day. So now it is a ritual for men to give candy to their women on Valentine’s Day to atone for anything they did wrong since the previous year.
